----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Background:

More than 100 chemical plants were located along China's river More than half of the plants were located along two of China's most important river, the Yangtze and Yellow river. China's environment chief acknowledge has valued economic growth over environmental degradation in the past.

=====================================================
Conclusion:

China should have all along be very careful about the many plants located along their rivers. Frequent checks should be done, to prevent any explosion and spilling of chemical in to rivers, especially when they are located in the important rivers, which are important water supply for the countries. They would be badly affected if it were to be polluted. I was shocked that economic growth was valued over the environment. How much problems they had contributed to the environment. I understand that their country is developing, but they should always be mindful with their environment. Not regret only when they the environment is seriously damaged.
